The Thompsons tie the knot!

We did it!  After 13 months, 9 days and a lot of planning {paired with a side of emotions and stress}, our Big Day finally arrived!  It was the most wonderful day of our lives and one we will certainly never forget!!  Proven with my lack of blogging activity, we are slowly but surely getting settled into our new humble abode in Camden!  I have promised myself {after a little motivation from a certain someone who has 3 kids, one on the way and full time job- if she has time, what's my excuse!}that I am going to catch up and keep up with the blog!  I will be back soon with a recap of the whole weekend but until then, I’ll leave with you one of our favorites from the Big day!  Watson-Thompson wedding-692

Rehearsal & Rehearsal Dinner

Before the real fun could start, we headed to the church for a run through of the big day! It was so exciting knowing that in just 24 hours we would be going through the real thing and leaving as husband and wife!

Lucky for us, our photographer was amazing and I had the hardest time choosing pictures to share.

Kicking off Wedding Weekend!

To say that we were ecstatic that the our big week was finally here would be nothing short of an understatement.  The weekend before our wedding we had plans to make the trip to Litchfield to witness one of my oldest and best friends, Sam get married!  That was until Thursday when I came down with a sore throat, achiness, congestion… the works.  After a half day at work, a quick call to my doctor and the strict orders from my dad and hubby to be, we missed the wedding and I was restricted to my bed the whole weekend.  Thankfully all the rest paid off and I was back to my normal self come Sunday!

Tuesday came and at noon I was a free woman!   I had a hair appointment followed by a dentist appointment scheduled for that afternoon.  I was ready to be pampered clearly because I was up again bright and early for a massage Wednesday morning!  I spent Wednesday afternoon running mindless errands- last minute goodies to the florist, picking up alterations, last minute honeymoon packing,etc. That night Mr. Thompson, Lee and Doug and a best friend of mine came over to help us relax {and tie up some loose ends!}  I jumped out of bed Thursday morning, as I was to meet my sisters and best girlfriends at SOAK for manis, pedis, champagne and relaxation to officially kick off the weekend I’d waited my whole life for!  I am so lucky to have these girls in my life!6Wedding WeekendWedding Weekend1Next up… time to rehearse!

Wedding Wednesday {the final countdown}

I can’t get the song out of my head but I can’t stop thinking that this is it… the final countdown.  In just 2 weeks and 2 days, John and I will become Mr. and Mrs.!!  Days are passing faster than ever and my to do list seems to continue to grow- shouldn’t it be getting shorter??  I can’t begin to find words of how I feel at this point- excited, nervous, stressed, emotional.  This past month has been full of excitement more than anything though!
Earlier this month, my best friends and sisters ventured to Nashville with me to celebrate my last weekend as a single lady!IMG_4553IMG_4559IMG_4574While my mom and Lee worked to get the invitations stuffed, stamped and ready to be mailed! I was so happy with the way the invitations turned out and I was excited to get them off our hands and into those that mean the most to us!photophoto (1)
This past Friday my mom and I had a busy but productive day.  We finally nailed down the menu with our caterer- the one and only Aberdeen!  I can’t wait to indulge in some of the yummy food- even if it’s at the end of the night!  After that we met with John’s grandmother who is making us our ring bearer pillow!  So sweet and thoughtful!  Finally, we headed to Evelyns where I had my final (ish) dress fitting!  I can’t believe in just 2 weeks I will finally be slipping into (my) perfect white dress and preparing to walk down the aisle!
I know that these last couple of weeks will fly by but I am ready for the fun to begin!!!
