Weekend Rewind

My 10 year class reunion was this past Friday- talk about feeling OLD!  Our graduating class had only 53 students and only half were able to make it so it was fairly small.  Most of our close group of friends were there and it was a lot of fun catching up with people I hadn’t seen in years.

We “pregamed” {if you will} at Meredith’s house before we headed to party at Rockaways.

After the reunion we went to Tin Roof where one of our classmates bartends. Saturday started a little slow for most of us.

Watson’s all-star baseball party was Saturday morning at a park up the street from their house.  Amy had every detail nailed to a t and the birthday boy had a blast!

Anderson wore his best baseball attire but couldn’t handle the fun.

Football is a pretty serious event in our house.  The Cocks took on Vandy and Watson was able to stay for the game.

We have a few of John’s smocked outfits from when he was a baby.  I love that Anderson was able to wear this one to church- how sweet!

Since Watson’s actual birthday was the 15th we celebrated with dinner and cake at my parents to end the fun weekend!

Labor Day Weekend

Our Labor Day weekend was non stop.  We started it by waking at the crack of dawn to make the trip home from Orlando for the USC season opener against UNC.  IMG_2155

That morning we got the news that our newest addition coming to the family in February is going to be a sweet baby girl!!  John and I are beyond excited since this little bundle whose name will be Katherine Marie will also be our goddaughter!

IMG_2169

Friday morning we retrieved our child back from his granddaddy to hit the road to Charleston for The Citadel season opener.  My sister made this adorable bubble for our little Bulldog to sport to his first Citadel game.

IMG_2171

We were exhausted from the weeks events so we had a low key night walking King Street then grabbed dinner at our favorite sushi spot, Wasabi.

We housesat for one of John’s good friends and his wife.  My husband- the dog whisperer.

A trip to Charleston is not complete without the obligatory bridge picture.

IMG_2201

We met up with Jimmy and Chris for brunch at Page’s Okra Grill before the game.  It came recommended by a few people and it was just as good as we had heard.  The shrimp and grits were some of the best I’d ever had!

The game wasn’t until that night but we had to get there a bit early to visit campus.  It holds a special place in us {obviously John more} as it was the same place John proposed and also the first place we visited after finding out we were expecting our baby boy!  I was so excited because I knew how much it meant to John.  I know he’s been dreaming of this day since last year!

We' have been so fortunate to tailgate with  The McQueeney’s for the games.  They have a great tailgate set up with an RV, tv, fans and lots of fun!

The PSL is back at Starbucks- I think I had one everyday that weekend.

IMG_2237

We stopped by the outlets on the way out of town.  Most stores were having their big Labor Day sales.  I picked up a handful of fall necessities including this BCBG jacket for next to nothing!  We’re ready for the cold weather.

IMG_2238

We had lunch at Jim-n-Nicks complete with Sam Adams Octoberfest and a plate of BBQ and sides.

This little one is starting to get into anything he can get his hands on.  Including our plates of food.

I may have tricked John into reading this book.  I can’t even blame it on my hormones anymore but this book makes me cry… like ugly cry sob.  I tried to read it a few weeks ago and didn’t make it through the first two pages.

IMG_2257

Opening day for Dove season was Monday which we had to make it back for.  Anderson is obviously too young to tag along but I made sure to have some camo for him to wear.

One of us cleaned all day while the other caught up on his sleep.

{Can you tell I’m dying for cold weather??}

IMG_2276

I hadn’t had backstrap since before I got pregnant last year.  It was one thing I missed most that I couldn’t have.  We had it for dinner that night and it was even better than I remember.

Our weekend ended with this little bug in our bed.  We were exhausted but long fun filled weekends are always worth it!

The littlest Gamecock

My sisters and I never really had a choice to be Gamecocks or not. We were just simply raised to know the right decision.  As far as I’m concerned, neither does Anderson or any of our future kids;)

You can imagine how excited I was to dress him in his first gameday attire for the season opener against North {the fake}Carolina!  While he wasn’t able to actually attend the game, he did cheer them to victory from his grandaddy’s house!

His Aunt Addie gave him his very first Gamecock ornament at one of my baby showers.  We are looking forward to getting it on the tree in a few months!

Fall, Football & 16 week update!

I was feeling especially unprepared for the fall season when the stocking I ordered arrived in the mail this past week and I had not one fall decoration in my house.  I am so not a creative DIY-er and usually do not do much decorating because of this.  Fall decorations around this house typically consist of throwing a pumpkin on the front porch and that’s about it.  Last year I promised myself I would do more this season so Friday called for a DIY day.

I found this burlap banner tutorial online.  I loved how it turned out and it added a little extra fun to our mantle!  It was super easy and cute! Fall 2012I am a lover of all things burlap so when I saw this wreath on pinterest awhile back I knew it would be perfect for my front door.  I think you could also add something to it to carry you through the Fall to Christmas holidays.  It was a little more time consuming as you had to cut each piece of fabric, fold and pin and it used every bit of the 1 1/4 that it called for.  IMG_5265And just for fun- here are a few other things I added outside and around the house.  We still have yet to carve the pumpkins and the candy corns wont last in this house long but it’s a start, right?Fall 20121I can’t believe it is already October but I’m not complaining.  With all this fall{ish} weather comes some good football!  I was so happy to hear when they set this week’s game time that it would be a 7:00 game.  It typically means the weather starts to cool down and the game is actually enjoyable.  We were excited to head to Columbia as our #6 Gamecocks took on the #5 Georgia Bulldogs!  Gameday visited and we were happy to pull out a BIG WIN!USC.GASundays now make for an exciting day to end the weekend- they mark another week further in the pregnancy department!  Today we reached 16 weeks!  IMG_527415 weeks, 6 days

How far along? 16 weeks

Size of Baby T? an avocado, measuring at approximately 3 1/2 ounces

Maternity Clothes?  Same as last week- mostly in normal clothes but slowly transitioning into maternity pieces.

Weight Gain? 5 lbs

Stretch Marks?  I picked up some Palmer’s this week at Target and while I haven't seen any just yet, I’m hoping it will prevent any in the future!

Gender? Thinking pink!  We find out on the 1st but have something special planned to find out alone so stay tuned!

Sleep? I pretty much toss and and turn ALL night now.  My mom bought me a boppy body pillow this weekend which has helped!

Movement?  None yet but they say this is the time when you could start feeling the first flutters!

Cravings? Not much different from last week except adding steak to the list.  I had a major aversion to meat early on but am gaining back the appetite for it and wanting lots of red meat lately.

What I miss? Alcohol.  With all the football, tailgating and wedding festivities I’m really wanting to indulge in a cold adult beverage.

Symptoms? {major} mood swings, itchy stomach, small bladder issues.

Best moment of the week? Mom, Boo and I went shopping today and we had so much fun scoping out all the baby stuff!  I am itching to start shopping but just a few more weeks!  Amy is also being induced this week and it’s is so overwhelming to think about all the fun and excitement happening in our family! All three babies will be the same age and grow up in the same grade!

A House Divided

This weekend was one I had been looking forward to for some time.  The Citadel was scheduled to play USC which meant John and I would cheer separate ways.  Some of my parents friends were throwing us a “Pre game” party too and we were so excited for the fun weekend ahead!

Our plans changed a little when I became sick a few days before and my doctor ordered me to stay in bed.  I chose to take my chances and went to our party anyways and I’m glad I did! The party was fun and we had a great time with our family and friends!  Thank you for a wonderful party McQueeneys, Andrews and Oates!IMG_4023-1 IMG_4024IMG_4029We were forced to miss the game Saturday but the Cocks once again pulled out a win!  I was a happy girl… John not so much!  I think all the bulldogs were praying for a repeat of the last time Carolina and Citadel met!

USC vs. Vandy

As we were packing up to leave Saturday, the bottom fell out of the sky.  I was a little nervous as I was NOT going to be stand in the rain to drink beer and socialize.  BUT, it quickly stopped and we were on our way to tailgate {but not without being fully armed with rain boots and jackets!}.  John was able to get box tickets through work so we were spoiled with food, drinks, comfy seats and “front” row seats all night. {At that point, I didn’t care if it rained- selfish? oops!} DSC_0624DSC_0623DSC_0625 DSC_0626 DSC_0622 Football 201110Football 201111DSC_0653DSC_0669As always, we had a great time and our Gamecocks pulled out a WIN to make us 4-0!!
